Alivia Maric, PhD
Alivia (Scalzo) Maric is a certified EMDR therapist and an EMDRIA approved consultant. She has been the registrar for Vancouver trainings since 2004 and has facilitated EMDR trainings in BC and Yukon. Alivia began working with trauma survivors in 1982. She went on to complete her MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology at SFU and has been a registered psychologist in private practice since 1992. She has provided consultation to a number of counselling agencies and has taught graduate courses in counselling psychology at Adler University (Vancouver). Alivia has been endorsed as a board certified expert in traumatic stress by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.
In addition to her training in psychology, Alivia holds a BFA (Hon) in Visual Arts.
Eve Wilensky, MA
Eve Belle Wilensky (she/her) MA RCC is a certified EMDR therapist and EMDRIA approved consultant. Eve holds a master’s degree in drama therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and is passionate about the use of psychodrama in group healing. In 2015, she received further training in sex therapy via the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
Eve is committed to issues of anti-oppression and social justice and has worked with victims of political and state violence, refugees and asylum seekers, veterans, front-line workers, and survivors of large-scale disasters. Additionally, she specializes in the treatment of fellow EMDR clinicians. Since 2018, she has worked in private practice on the unceded, traditional, and ancestral homelands of the wməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Marshall Wilensky, PhD (founder, retired)
In the early 1990s, Marshall was trained by EMDR founder Dr. Francine Shapiro as the first Canadian EMDR trainer. He has facilitated EMDR trainings throughout Canada and the US from 1998 to 2024.
Marshall has more than 20,000 hours of experience with EMDR, and his specialty is the treatment of trauma. He was endorsed as a board certified expert in traumatic stress by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and was an EMDR Institute Facilitator from 1996 to 2006.
For many years, Marshall taught counselling psychology and clinical psychology for Simon Fraser University, the British Columbia School of Professional Psychology, and the University of British Columbia. He has been in private practice since 1980.
Marshall created this training program in 1998 and has mentored and supported Alivia and Eve from their basic trainings in EMDR through to becoming EMDR trainers themselves.
